BEEF records is proud to present the “1950” EP by New York based duo Nunzi & Rohin. In this extraordinary EP the future meets the past – modern production techniques are well blended with the vibe of the early 50’s funk and jazz era. This EP is ready to rock any dance floor with it’s melodic approach and well familiar structure as well as it loose but jacking jazzy grooves.
On remix duties Beef label heads Shades Of Gray have resampled the main hook and given their signature touch to the production. This colourful remix has been getting hammered in the clubs and it really brings the crowd to the boil.
Dirty Bird’s Talal & Zoi approached the track in a more stripped back tech house way, which is just what you need to fit it perfectly in your dj set. Colombian maestro, Phillip O has delivered the 3rd remix which represents a modern deep house edit without any lack of energy.
This EP is specially blended for dance parties of all kinds. Play it loud.
It is an honour for me to be in BEEF Records, label from Australia/Czech Rep who has hosted tracks by artists such as Robert Babicz, Kreon, Ramon Tapia, Moonbeam, Animal Trainer, Solead, Hirtenfellner, Alex Kenji, MOS, Deepchild, Boris Brejcha, Martinez, D-Nox, Jamie Stevens, Shades of Gray and others.

Utku Dalmaz – Backed Up EP [Sound Mass Records]
Utku Dalmaz is synonymous to bubbly deep funky house music and he states this even further with this massive 4 track EP on Sound Mass records… he let me remix one of his tracks, “cool guy”, which I gladly gave the “O” treatment being a cool guy myself . *coughing*
The tracks are firing up the dance floor’s in the hands of Ant Brooks, Rob Mirage, Dj Chus, Eric Entrena, Jerome Isma-ae, Raymundo Rodriguez, Milton Channels, Nigel Bazeley among many others who have given this brilliant EP early support.
Utku Dalmaz – Backed Up EP is out now on Beatport, here is your link to buy it and make sure you also check the other releases by me and Utku, you will find some gems for sure.
Mandragora
The roots of mandragora bear a resemblance to the human form. Magically speaking, there are male and female mandrakes. The female form, its roots forked and looking like a pair of human legs, is the most sought after. The male, on the other hand, has a single root. It was the female form that was carved in the Middle Ages (in Germany and France) into manikins. It was believed that they brought good luck and wealth. it is worth mentioning that the mandragora flowers are hermaphrodite.

This is my first ever original finished track, Mandragora, is out this week on Sound Mass Records from Turkey, its got support from Ant Brooks, DJ Chus, Eric Entrena, Alex Young, D.Ramirez, Raymundo Rodriguez, Jose Cabello… among others. The people seem to love it, see for yourself on this VIDEO I made on my gig last week at Piso 41 here in Bogota, which explains why UK DJ Jamie Fisher, the head honcho of the burgeoning Leeds label, LS City Records, has charted it on the 3rd spot of his Beatport top 10 for March 2010, adding up to the list of artists who support this massive Tech House cut.
The track comes out on a Various Artists compilation which includes tracks by Sound Mass Artists, of course it couldn’t go without a track by its creator, Utku Dalmaz.

As a 10-year-old child listening to German techno, acid rave and Dutch trance the writing was pretty much on the wall for young electronic music fan, Jamie Fisher.
Having made himself familiar with decks at the tender age of 13, the ensuing years of practise paid off when he was given a residency at a Doncaster warehouse party at the age of 17. As is natural nowadays for any aspiring DJ, Jamie also set to work making his own records whilst continuing to DJ alongside some of the scene’s biggest players, and this Shapes EP is his latest offering.
Thumping from the off, ‘Hexagon’ treads a solid progressive house path with glints of light coming from key stabs and plenty of twisted, driving percussion littering the middle ground. When the resounding chords ring out at the midpoint, things build to a tense break before bouncing along on hands-in-the-air passage of rolling beats. It’s an underground slice of dance floor dynamite.
The remixes range from gnarled, more silvery tech edged affairs, to dubbed out, skipping drum patterns in a house mould and come from Lissat & Voltaxx, Marc Leaf and Colt Figure and Sem Thomasson offering something for everyone.
Second track ‘Octagon’ has a thunderous, subliminal bottom end and comes to life with soaring synth lines, piston releases and frenzied percussion ‘til it bubbles over into a heads-up slice of undulating, moody 4/4 of the sort to ignite any decent dance floor. Another selection of fine and deviant remixes from Benny Royal and Phillip O round off this inaugural LS City release with aplomb.

That Night – Part two – The Remixes
That Night is an amazing track. From the debut album of Utku Dalmaz. Charted by Dj Chus, included on Dj Mag Compilation CD album. Supported by many great Dj/Producers.
Remixes are tasty as well as the original, first, a Deep remix coming from Phillip O, who is one of the best house music producers from Colombia. Combined with smooth minimal percs, deep and groovy lines on the breaks, should do proper damage for the Deep / Minimal heads.
Norman Zube and Patrick Mark Remix is a killer techy monster with a proper groove, set to fire up dancefloors all over!
*Caution* Suby bass-lines on these remixes may be dangerous for your mental health and drive you nuts on the dance floor!
Release Date: January 28th Sound Mass Records.

Kissy Sellout (Radio 1): Support 10/10
Cuban Brothers: Nice deep mix from Philip O.
Jon Cutler: Support Philip O Remix – 7/10
Funkagenda (Toolroom): Philip O Mix is cool.
Zdar (Cassius): like the Dan McKie mix.
Digital Dogs: great mix harvey smashes it, full support
Jay C (In Bed With Space Resident): will support 2’s Company remix, sounds nice.
Lee Mortimer (Warehouse Music): both harvey schoolboy’s and Dan McKie remixes are ace. The Former just pips it for being a bit more twisted.
Fedde Le Grand (CR2 / Flamingo): Dan McKie mix works for me.
Here is the press release from the Label:
“This track has been in the 1980 schedule for nearly 2 years and it finally gets released with 4 great remixes. First up is Dan McKie’s Rework. Taking the best elements from the original and re-producing it with electro delight.
Next is 2’s Company. A hot up and coming DJ/Production duo based in London bring you a top class progressive house work out.
Harvey Schoolboy, from Australia is tipped for big things in 2010 and why not start the year with an electro house remix bomb.
Last but not least is Phillip O. Having won the Fedde Le Grand remix competition on CR2 this producer from South America is a definite house talent to watch.”

Boombox!
Hello! This is a very good day for me, am happy and extremely proud to announce this new release!
This is a special release for me because Dean is a good friend of mine and has supported me a lot since we met back in 2004, he has been a huge influence for my career… In fact, he is my favorite producer!
The track is called “Boombox” by Dean Newton, who is a magnificent producer from Scotland, his tracks have been released on several top labels like Subliminal, Kontor, Pacha, Ministry of Sound, Black Hole, Avanti, Big Love, Opaque among several others and they have been supported extensively by the likes of Fergie, Eric Prydz, Erick Morillo, Funkagenda, Roger Sanchez, Pete Tong, Axwell, to name nothing but a few…

Here is what Dean Newton himself posted on Dontstayin.com:
Another new release today, been getting some huge support from the likes of Fatboy Slim and Oakenfold, good selection of mixes, should be something for everyone.
No Requests Music presents its third installment with a very unique production from Dean Newton, if you enjoyed his work on Subliminal titled “747″ supported by Axwell, Erick Morillo and more, then you will simply love the following:
“Boombox” is a real show stopper, starting with the original version, lots of synths and strings that makes you feel you’re driving your own Formula 1 car.
DJ Ortzy switches to second gear with his big room vocal remix, the Colombian based producer sprung recently and achieved masterworks on labels such as Pacha, Cr2, Juicy Music and more.
Third place goes to Da Fresh remix, a hissy version on steroids that gets any ass shaking! Da Fresh work has been supported on various labels including Toolroom.
Last but not least remixes of Mark Morris who is currently supported by Richie Hawtin & Dubfire and highly followed in the techno scene; while Phillip O is the winner of CR2’s remix competition for Fedde Le Grand’s “Get This Feeling”. Both interpret their own versions of Boombox with a progressive orientated atmosphere that surely satisfy all wide range of DJs and dancefloors”
And here is a funny video I made for this remix on my YouTube Channel
Thank You
Miguel Estrada’s “Drop”
Miguel Estrada from Australia and Don Steele from Vinyl Pusher Records were kind enough to choose me to remix Miguel’s debut release, Miguel Estrada is a new name in the scene, but the man behind it has plenty of experience in “the Oz” club and music scene… My take on “The Drop” is kind of different to what I’ve been doing, Big Room Proggy House with a long breakdown and a massive buildup only to explode with a sick drop… hence the name
This is my third release on the Australian imprint, Vinyl Pusher. Out now on Beatport!

Funkbomb
My second release on the Australian imprint Vinyl Pusher! This time I’m remixing Rob Care, whose Saxophone flooded Funky House track makes it feel like summer wherever you are! My take on it was basically intended for the clubs, with the right amount of summer vibe attached to it, the HUGE saxophone and kinda Tech House stabs will get you ‘dancin and prancin’ in no time. Got to love it.
