Defending terrorist settler-colonial ethnostates should never have been the default normie position it has been for nearly 80 years. But, alas, this is the kind of insane world we find ourselves in. A world where the boy who cried wolf gets to scorn the villagers for distrusting him, with the full backing of those who hold all the power.
We are already in a world where, under no uncertain terms, the nation with the largest military in the world, with over 700 bases spread over all continents and the largest amounts of nuclear weapons (not to mention holding the record for the one and only nation on earth to have ever used a nuclear bomb to attack an enemy), is being run under a fascist agenda. From ICE, having a required quota of 2000 arrests per day currently and targetting people based on their skin colour at worst killing numerous innocent people, to at best putting them into concentration camps under terrible conditions to then be deported to places like CECOT, to the NSPM-7 and the new designation “Far left terrorism” or FLT, as a means to label anyone they want a terrorist, and thus strip them of due process and torture and arrest them with no consequences.
This, NSPM-7 and FLT, is what many feared back when the “war on terror” got started. The state used legal frameworks under this “war”, like the Patriot Act, to unscrupulously track, kidnap, torture and kill numerous people over the two decades it has been in place. Initially targetting muslims all over the world, similar provisions have now under the current far-right administration been turned inwards, to target political opposition domestically.
If I were in the United States, I would be considered an FLT. But make no mistake, this will inevitably also affect not only leftists, not only liberals, but also conservatives. It is not only for those of us who are against genocide in Palestine, or those of us who support trans rights, gay rights, women’s rights, and international law… One of the most bipartisan issues in the states right now are data centres, for example. People of all political spectrums detest data centres. People in rural america are protesting these useless monstrosities. And now, as it stands, being “anti tech” is also a risk factor for being labelled a terrorist.
So that’s where things are today.
And thus, back to the headline of this post, in this crazy world where things are upside-down, we find that the zionists who settled the ever expanding area we refer to as Israel, an entire project whose supposed goal was to give a group of people a state so they would never have to suffer again what the european fascists put them through almost 100 years ago, have themselves turned into the modern day nazis: killing, torturing and stealing more and more land (liebensraum, anyone?)… A true rape society where the rapist is freed and celebrated by popular demand, and the person who leaked the evidence is scorned and arrested. Where their military allegedly trains dogs to rape the palestinians they detain daily. An apartheid ethnostate theocracy that despite screaming at the top of their lungs for decades to be the “oNLy dEmoCrAcY in the middle east” (eyes rolling so fucking hard) are not a democracy at all. There is no such thing as a democratic society where there are no equal rights for all its inhabitants. An ethnostate is by definition anathema to a democracy. So spare me with that BS. Oh, who can remember the Democratic apartheid state of South Africa? (for the autistic reader who lacks reading comprehension: nobody, it didn’t exist. For the rest, remember that Nelson Mandela was removed from the list of “terrorists” in 2007, so that should tell you something).
So these psychotic racist assholes are allied with the american racist assholes who up to this point have been the hegemonic superpower (we can thank Mao for setting in motion the course of history that is en route to balancing that).
And do not even get me started on what Narco Rubio and the US have been doing and will do to Cuba.
But, but, but, dO yoU conDeMn hAmaS? In agreement with professor Norm Finkelstein, I do not. Hamas is Nat Turner. Hamas are the lesser evil in this equation and are fighting against an occupation. A resistance against an injustice.
Does Israel have the right to defend themselves? In my opinion they do not, they are the aggressors. I think of Israel as the european settler colonies in the Americas. They are stealing land that does not belong to them, and the population resisting them is fair and justified. Claiming Israel has the right to defend themselves would be like claiming the colonies had the right to defend themselves from the native americans who fought them. If I were alive back then I would have supported the native americans. I support the palestinians, and the ukrainians, and right now also the Iranians against the axis of Epstein. In fact I wish Iran had a nuclear weapon. If they did nobody would be fucking with them and the strait of Hormuz would be open.
The Palestinians, who unlike Iran who has the right to defend itself, and the Ukraine who has the right to defend itself, unfortunately have no state. This all thanks to the british empire and the nazis and particularly Israel, who despite having treated holocaust survivors like trash, uses the holocaust as an excuse for its ethnic cleansing campaign and expects to accomplish its project with no accountability. Israel’s hope is that after enough time has passed, much like with the native american genocide and its horrors, they too get to rewrite history, just like the Republicans and the trump administration are trying to do so today in the United States, 250 years after the declaration of independence.
So, the words “Palestine has the right to defend itself” cannot, as of yet, be written. But, on the mean time, the words “Palestinians have the right to defend themselves” can. And they need to be written a lot more.
Even the West Bank on areas meant to be off limits for Israel, settlers, backed by the IDF, have been amping up their attacks and reaching areas they‘ve never reached before. Palestinians who fight back get arrested despite their right to resist occupation. I say they should be allowed to throw way more than fucking rocks. Make it fair, I say.
Several months after the supposed ceasefire, Israel hasn’t ceased to fire. Honestly, Colombian President Petro did have a point when he was calling for a global army to intervene. I’m tired of Israel getting away with their bullshit. Hurt people hurt people and all that, but someone’s got to put a stop to their bullshit already. Fuck.
